ORGANIC FARMING PROJECT
In partnership with Kenya Youth Foundation (KYF), we work with youth and children in schools to promote eco-friendly organic agriculture towards food security. Through this project school and community, feeding is enhancing and new livelihoods of rural youth creating.
Our partner Kenya Youth Foundation (KYF) has been working on policy, development, and advocacy for youth, women, and children. KYF has been at the forefront of promoting sustainable development in agriculture, the environment, and natural resource management in rural and semi-urban settings. Together with Worldview Impact Foundation (WIF), the organization has been working with youth and children in schools and out of school to promoting eco-friendly organic agriculture towards food security.
The initiative is developing creative and inbuilt experiences to come up with workable technologies and strategies to promote eco-friendly organic farming targeting schools in tourism corridors which are generally dry and rarely support farming. Given land is vast, the tapping of solar-based water pumps, irrigation systems, and enhanced ground & rainwater harvesting will ensure that these schools will produce enough food to feed even the surrounding communities. This is focusing on the Maasai mara tourism corridor.
In Nyando District of Kisumu KYF is developing a follow-up project after successful work on Kenya's rural livelihood project where targeted schools will develop school gardens to be fitted with solar technology in water harvesting, distribution, and irrigation system to produce food for school feeding, the food produced will be organic. It will also offer touristic and experiential learning for locals & tourists to build a global movement for eco-friendly organic farming. Worldview Impact Foundation is a key partner in this project.
Through this donation, you will help with enhancing community feeding and creating new livelihoods for rural youth.
