Launch of mangrove restoration in The Gambia in July 2022
In partnership with Worldview The Gambia (WTG) we launched our mangrove restoration project in The Gambia on World Mangrove Day 26 July 2022. Since 2015 WTG has planted 10,000 mangrove trees along the Banjul coast, the affected areas have seen a drastic improvement in local wildlife.
WTG will create mangrove incubators that be deployed to propagate 4-5 crops of mangrove seeds. WTG has set out to plant 25 million seedlings in the next 5-10 year along the West African coast. They have made inroads with government ecology conservation organisations to help this deployment.
