CLIMATE CHANGE CHAMPION</a>
In partnership with Corporacion Grupo Tayrona, we are developing a special climate change champion program in order to actively engage school children in Bogota, Colombia, and then scale it up to reach out to the schools in Colombia and South America.
Our partner Corporacion Grupo Tayrona (CGT) has been working on policy, development, and advocacy for youth, women, and children in Colombia. CGT has been at the forefront of promoting sustainable development, environment and climate change mitigation, and adaptation in South America. Together with Worldview Impact Foundation (WIF), the organization has been working with youth and children in schools and out of school to promoting Global Youth Service Day. Through this initiative school, participation and community engagement have been enhanced over the years.
Currently, CGT and WIF are working together in partnership to host a side event at the United Nations Conference Of Parties (COP) 22 in Marrakesh to discuss Strategies to Finance Climate Mitigation with Sustainable Tourism in the context of highlighting – the United Nations 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism. Together we will be building partnerships with governments and stakeholders to scale strategies to finance climate mitigation with sustainable tourism in many developing countries. We will be targeting high-level public authority representatives, tourism professionals, policymakers, stakeholders, women, and youth representatives, civil societies, and researchers for this project.
Our goal after participating at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Marrakesh is to develop a special climate change program in order to actively engage school children in Colombia and then scale it up to reach out to the schools in the whole of South America.
Your donation will go towards the development of this program so can continue working with youth and children in Colombia engaging them in Global Youth Service Day.
